Ensuring your motorhome operates correctly and to avoid untimely failures, both on the habitation and mechanical sides, it is crucial to keep your vehicle properly maintained. At Whittams, our habitation service includes gas safety, electrical checks and damp reports.

To maintain manufacturer warranties, annual habitation services are essential. Failure to do so can invalidate your vehicle's warranty, which typically lasts 3 years for new UK-built motorhomes.

    Habitation Checks

    Habitation servicing should be carried out annually on the 'home' element of your vehicle. It is designed to check that the gas, electric, water systems and appliances are running safely & smoothly. Also, in the unlikely event of damp entering your motorhome, that it is detected as soon as possible and treated before irreparable damage is caused.

  • Mechanical Servicing

    Inspections should be carried out on the engine & chassis of your vehicle. Depending on your use, this should be carried out at least every year or between 6k / 10k miles, whichever is sooner. Surprisingly, low mileage can be worse. Engines are designed to run regularly and get up to temperature. Long layups & irregular use can lead to condensation, oil contamination & seized components.

    Body Repairs

    Accidents can happen and it is sadly all too easily done. The unseen low wall, protruding tree branches, the lamp post that wasn’t there before. Whatever the cause, with Whittams preferred partners we can cater for most minor and major repairs, from simple re-sprays to body panels and GRP moulding, let us take the headache away from those irritating mishaps.

    Caravan service works include exterior structure and seal integrity inspection to a full interior damp report. All systems are checked including water, electric & gas. Inspection of the brake system and stripping of the brakes is also undertaken.
